Also users can view bookmarks that are commented by their friends to know their interest and find out more about them.Users can view bookmarks that are marked mutually by them and their friends, and that are newly added by their friends.
Inviting Friends
Networking with friends is easy. Users can invite their friends using mail Id or import them from their contact list maintained in other networks like Gmail, Yahoo and MSN. A friend request will be send to their friend, and they will be added to their friends list only on acceptance.Invite your friends to join MarkIt and help them get everything they want.
Bookmark Comments
Commenting on bookmarks enables users to find about links easily and know what others think about the link. A hot list of bookmarks is listed in the side bar. The lists of the recently added and popular bookmarks are displayed.
Share Bookmarks
Sharing bookmarks is the best way to get more bookmarks. Bookmarks can be shared with their friends and others. It is also possible to maintain bookmarks privately.
Subscription List
If a user finds users with similar thoughts and interests, the user can subscribe to those users for receiving links bookmarked by them. In order to view links belonging to specific field or subject, subscribe to those tags. The bookmarks categorized under subscribed tags will be listed in user’s subscribed page.

Tagging bookmarks is a better way to organize bookmarks, and a great way to discover interesting things on bookmarking site. Organizing bookmarks will help managing large number of bookmarks with ease. The site enables users to view tags in list or clouds.
Bookmark Display
It is easy to access bookmarks submitted, marked, commented and subscribed by users separately. Making it much easier for a user, to view bookmarks submitted by him, bookmarks of other users that are marked by him, bookmarks submitted and marked by him, and bookmarks that are commented by him.
View Friends Details
It lists all the links that are submitted, marked, commented, and subscribed by his friends.

Site Statistics
The site statistical report helps users to track their activity on site apart from knowing user details and site statistics. From user details, one can analyze total site members and know number of users those who are online. Users can get other details related to the site, like total number of links/URLs bookmarked and digged on the site, and total comments from the site statistics page.
Import Bookmarks
If users have their favorite bookmarks in other bookmarking sites, they need not key-in all the details again. They can simply transfer that list into the site using the bookmark import feature. Currently, users can import bookmarks from famous sites like del.icio.us and digg.
Export Bookmarks

Bookmarklet
Bookmarklets are simple tools that extend the surf and search capabilities of Firefox and Explorer web browsers. Bookmarklets allow you to modify the way you see someone else's webpage, extract data from a webpage, search more quickly, and in ways not possible with a search engine, navigate in new ways and many more.
Manage Widgets
It is build with Yahoo User Interface (YUI) widget API. MarkIt will generate a script for specific widget on request. Just place the script at desired place of your site, to add the widget through which users can retrieve links added in auto complete drop down form.
RSS Feeds
MarkIt makes it easy to convert a page content into the RSS feeds which is used to publish frequently updated works—such as blog entries, news headlines, audios, and videos—in a standardized format.
HotList Bookmarks
Users can get updates of the recent bookmarks added depending on the media type in which it is added.
IGoogle Widgets
Users can add their contents as a widget in igoogle to get updates on their links. They can also add a widget to other sites, such as their blogs.
Digg Import
As people are crowding towards the Digg site, we have integrated the Markit application with Digg to allow users import their activities like submitting stories, and friend’s stories and stories inside the containers to the site built using Markit. This action will definitely attract more users to the Markit site.
Delicious Import
Many people consider that Delicious is the magic toolbox to get targeted traffic to their site. It is not only a good resource to drive traffic to their site, but also a great way to keep track of their bookmarked favourite sites.
The Markit application is integrated with Delicious, to allow users import their added bookmark list from Delicious to the Markit site using their Delicious account. It helps these users show how they are active in Delicious, Markit site user.
Post Through Emails
Email has changed the way of communication. You can deliver your messages in a matter of minutes. It allows you to contact multiple users at the same time and to convey your message even without meeting them. Now, Markit comes with a new feature called ‘Post through mails’. Starting today, users can post links on the MarkIt site by just sending a mail to an email account specified in the profile page. User should follow a specific format as stated in the profile page.
Featured Users List
The featured user algorithm generates the featured user list automatically based on the activity of users on the site. Admin can check the list and remove any user from the list at any moment as per the need. If admin is not happy with the contribution of any user, then admin can remove him/her from the featured list easily, so as to make the list filled with the truly featured members.
Advanced Search
Searching for desired information will always take much time. By simply typing a keyword phrase in the search box, you can get tons of stuff related to your search. It will be difficult to find the item which you are searching for. With the advanced search feature, you can enable your users to find the exact information by placing the code word before the keyword phrase in the search box. For instance, if they want to look for information regarding audio stories, just typing “-m” before the audio stories will fetch them the exact information about audios.
Bookmark Spy
Markit contains the Bookmark spy feature which displays users’ activities on the site. If users carry out any activity like bookmarking links, commenting and voting on bookmarks, viewing links, tagging bookmarks etc, it will be automatically listed on the site. . If any user is impressed by other members’ activities, then the user will add them to his/her friends list and share their bookmarking works.
